About the Role
We are seeking a Network & Systems Engineer with CCNA-level networking knowledge to support and maintain IT environments across our managed services customer base. This is a hands-on, execution-focused role responsible for resolving tickets across all tiers, maintaining network stability, and ensuring all environments are properly documented, monitored, and standardized. The role requires flexibility to balance project-based network work with day-to-day help desk responsibilities, as well as the ability to mentor junior team members. Engineers are expected to take ownership of assigned client environments and demonstrate measurable improvement over time. The ideal candidate is self-sufficient, detail-oriented, and accountable.
What You’ll Do
- Resolve Tier 1–3 support tickets across network, M365/Azure/Intune, and endpoints — owning issues end-to-end with strong ticket hygiene
- Configure VLANs, DHCP, DNS, NAT, and routing; support firewalls, switches, and wireless infrastructure
- Perform firmware upgrades and environment standardization; review infrastructure and recommend modernization
- Own monitoring accuracy in Auvik/RMM — configure SNMP, alerting, and discovery; build BrightGauge/Auvik dashboards
- Maintain network diagrams, asset inventories, and configuration documentation; ensure all client environments are fully documented
- Proactively assess environments for risk — identify and resolve bottlenecks, misconfigurations, and single points of failure
- Train and mentor junior technicians; support escalations with structured knowledge transfer
- Balance project work with help desk coverage, working the ticket queue as needed
What We’re Looking For
- CCNA preferred, or equivalent hands-on networking experience with VLANs, routing, and firewall management
- Microsoft 365 and Azure experience (certifications preferred, but real-world admin/troubleshooting experience accepted)
- 3–6 years of IT experience, ideally in an MSP supporting SMB environments
- Proven ability to balance reactive and proactive work across multiple client environments
- Self-sufficient and accountable — you own problems instead of escalating unnecessarily and don’t need constant direction
- Strong documentation discipline and the ability to communicate clearly without ego
- Team-first mindset — you support colleagues, train others, and don’t overengineer simple environments
- Interview requirement: be prepared to demonstrate how you’ve previously built or improved monitoring visibility and alerting
