Digital Transformation Consulting

Transformation is a sequence, not an announcement

Most digital transformation programmes fail in the same place. Not the technology, the sequencing. Organizations automate a process nobody has fixed, or build analytics on data nobody trusts, or migrate a system nobody understands. AIS starts by working out what has to be true before the next thing can work.

Short answer

Digital transformation consulting is the work of sequencing technology change so it delivers value in the right order. AIS starts with the data and process foundation, then automation, then AI, because the reverse order is how transformation projects stall.

The sequencing problem

The order that works is almost always the same

Every organization we meet wants to start somewhere in the middle. The board is asking about AI, so the AI project starts, and eighteen months later there is a pilot that never shipped because the underlying data was never reliable enough to act on. The order that works is almost always the same. Understand the process. Fix or remove what is broken. Automate what remains. Build reporting on top of it. Then, and only then, apply AI to something specific and measurable. We have run this sequence inside global life sciences programmes where the definition of done included an audit trail.

Process understand it first Fix or remove what’s broken Automate what remains Report on top of it AI only then UNDERSTAND, FIX, AUTOMATE, REPORT, THEN AI Most failed projects started on the right, not the left.
Skip a step and the next one inherits the mess.
What we deliver

Five pieces of work, in the order they actually pay off

Assessment and roadmap

What you actually have, what it costs to keep, where the constraints are, and the order operations have to happen in. Delivered with effort and impact attached to each item so leadership can make decisions rather than receive a report.

Process automation services

Replacing manual, repeatable work with automated processes. Compliance reporting, document and procedure management, approval workflows. The work that consumes people without using their judgment.

System integration

Getting systems that were never designed to talk to each other to exchange data reliably, so the reconciliation step disappears rather than being reassigned.

Data foundation and analytics

Consolidating sources, resolving conflicting definitions, and building reporting people stop second-guessing. This is the prerequisite for anything involving AI.

Cloud and infrastructure modernization

Migration and re-architecture where it earns its cost, and honesty about where it does not.

Fit

Who this is for

Organizations carrying more manual process than their size justifies. Organizations where leadership cannot get a straight answer from their own data. Organizations that have been told they need AI and have no idea whether that is true. And organizations that have started a transformation programme already and want an honest second read on whether it is sequenced correctly.

Common questions

Before you ask

What does a transformation engagement start with?

An inventory of systems, data and processes, and an honest read on which are ready to change. The first deliverable is a sequenced roadmap with the cost of delay attached to each item.

How is this different from just buying new software?

Software is a tool. Transformation is deciding which problems are worth solving, in what order, and making sure the data and the people are ready. Most failed projects bought the tool first.

How long before we see anything?

The first roadmap lands inside the first quarter of the engagement. Individual improvements ship along the way rather than all at the end.

Do you build the automation or only advise on it?

AIS designs and builds it, including intelligent automation and AI-enabled workflows, and stays accountable for the outcome.

Who needs to be involved from our side?

Whoever owns the business outcome, not only IT. Transformation that lives entirely inside the IT department rarely survives contact with the operation.
