AIS recently received the William G. Mays Excellence in Entrepreneurship Award, presented by the Indiana Minority Business Magazine (IMBM) during their 13th Annual Champions of Diversity Awards Dinner. This incredible award is one of only three distinct honors given at the event, and it recognizes AIS as an organization that has garnered business success while furthering the causes of diversity and inclusion.
AIS is very grateful to be recognized by such an esteemed publication, one whose chief goal is to enrich the business community of our state. Lamont Hatcher, CIO of AIS, had this to say: “This award is an incredible honor, but it is not the finish line for us. It is a reminder of what we can still achieve. AIS is committed to continuing our efforts to grow our business and to make diversity a reality in our community.” In the spirit of this award, AIS has pursued the following certification.
Certified Minority Business Enterprise (MBE)
After undergoing an application process with the National Minority Supplier Development Council, AIS is now, officially, a certified Minority Business Enterprise (MBE). This certification confirms that AIS is at least 51% minority owned, operated and controlled. We are very excited to be a certified minority supplier and to explore all the opportunities this brings.
- Networking: AIS now has access to a national online database of over 12,000 other certified minority suppliers, allowing us to build relationships with other companies.
- Events: AIS will have the opportunity to present our business at MBE Business Opportunity Fairs.
- Continued Education: AIS will be able to undergo customized executive and leadership training.
We are so grateful for this opportunity to grow as a member of the certified minority business community. As an official MBE, AIS will continue to provide opportunities for those who are underrepresented and to advocate for inclusivity in 2018.
