After working for many years in both SMB and enterprise-level IT, AIS’s founders saw a gap in the IT marketplace for small to mid-sized organizations (SMBs).
While large enterprises were forward-thinking when it came to IT—they were early adopters of new technology and looked to their digital assets to help them operate more efficiently, better serve their clients, scale, and gain a competitive advantage in their industry. We saw that SMBs wanted and needed these same things, but didn’t necessarily have the budget, mindset, or capabilities to implement large-scale IT solutions.

We make it our mission to give back, both as an organization and as individuals. In supporting non-profits and educational organizations, we gain more perspective and leverage our talents as servant leaders in our community. Lamont completed his undergraduate studies at Indiana University in 1995, where he earned a B.S. in Computer/Information Technology Administration and Management. He began his IT career as a Document Processing Specialist for USA Track & Field and within a few years’ time grew to the VP of Technology for an enterprise level IT firm while simultaneously working as the IT Director for Memorial Clinic of Indianapolis. In 2012, he took a risk and started his own company (AIS) with a mission to help SMBs better understand and implement technology solutions to help them grow their businesses and achieve their goals/missions more effectively through the use of technology. AIS has seen tremendous growth and has helped hundreds of SMBs implement effective technology solutions. As the company has scaled, Lamont has been intentional on how he builds his team. With a focus on aligning strong core values with diversity, he promotes a culture of equality and inclusion and believes in elevating and giving women & minorities opportunities in technology. Wayne Patrick is a Mentor and Investor in several startup and entrepreneurial companies. He is a graduate of Rose Hulman with a BS degree in Electrical Engineering and earned an MBA from Butler University. He earned an Executive MBA from Dartmouth and has over forty years of experience in Information Technology including IT Director for a large fortune 500 Financial and Insurance Company. He has extensive experience in the IT Consulting Industry having started and managed his own IT Consulting Company, Professional Data Dimensions to a successful exit. His experience in the Software industry includes having developed and led the consulting efforts for a large software firm and having been the COO of two entrepreneurial/start-up software firms that had successful exits. In addition, Wayne and his brother have been successful restaurant franchise towner operators through starting and developing the Central Indiana territory for Marco’s Pizza. Wayne currently serves as an advisor to ClearObject, AIS, Zio, Givelify, WorkHere and Diverse Talent Strategies.CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
Ivan Baird earned a bachelor’s in accounting from Alabama A&M University and then moved to Minneapolis and New York and spent four years traveling the world as a business manager for American Express. During and after that time, he worked as tour and business manager for an assortment of wealthy recording artists, including Nas, Boyz II Men and Donell Jones. From 2006 to 2009, he was finance manager and procurement agent for the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute.For AIS he has played a central role in growing and scaling the company and oversaw a doubling of year-over-year revenue from 2018 to 2019. He developed a comprehensive look at AIS’ full value chain, then helped company leadership act on that knowledge, including identifying key business drivers and company-specific metrics and revamping data collection. Baird supports the debt-free ministry at his church, Emmanuel Missionary Baptist, and has helped develop curriculum for a series of books called “D-Free Lifestyle” that helps mentor minorities in financial independence through the three Ds (no deficits, no delinquencies, no debt).DIRECTOR OF GOVERNMENT SERVICES
Steve Summerville is the COO of AIS and has been in the IT business since 1980. He graduated from Washburn University Law school in Kansas with a degree in Social Sciences. He began his career with International Business Machines as an intern and progressed to a Sales capacity. Prior to working with AIS, Steve worked with Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC), Sungard Recovery Services, Xerox Corporation, Professional Data Dimensions (PDD), and the Brookfield Group. Throughout his career, he has been a top performer, earning the titles of Presidents and Chairmans Clubs for outstanding achievements in various organizations. The key factors in his role center around being able to construct and nurture honest and lasting network relationships as well as creating and acting on an authentic set of value propositions, which put my clients and personal relationships interest first.VICE PRESIDENT OF ENTERPRISE RELATIONSHIPS
Christopher Gunn is Vice President of Enterprise Relationships for AIS. He attended Florida A&M University (FAMU) in Tallahassee, FL, and graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information. Upon graduation, he began his professional career at Eli Lilly and Company in Indianapolis, IN. He has held leadership positions at companies such as Elanco, BCForward, and ITLogica. Mr. Gunn is a past multi-term President of the Indianapolis chapter of the Florida A&M University (FAMU) Alumni Association, and the former Vice President of Strategy and Planning of the Black Data Processing Association (BDPA) of Indianapolis. With over 30 years of IT expertise experience, Mr. Gunn prides himself in his work at AIS by upholding the values of the company
